The VX-8R provides a wide variety of memory system resources. These include:
ˆ “Regular” Memory Channels, which include:
€ 900 “Standard” memory channels, numbered “1 1 1 1 1 ” through “900 900 900 900 900 .”
€ 99 “Frequency Skip Memories,” numbered “901 901 901 901 901 ” through “999 999 999 999 999 .”
€ 11 “Home” channels, providing storage and quick recall of one prime frequency
on each operating band.
€ 50 sets of band-edge memories, also known as “Programmable Memory Scan”
channels, labeled “L01 L01 L01 L01 L01 /U01 U01 U01 U01 U01 ” through “L50 L50 L50 L50 L50 /U50 U50 U50 U50 U50 .”
€ 24 Memory Banks, labeled “b 1 b 1 b 1 b 1 b 1 ” through “b24 b24 b24 b24 b24 .” Each Memory Bank can be
assigned up to 100 channels from the “regular” memory channels.
ˆ Special Memory Channels, which include:
€ One “Emergency Automatic ID (EAI)” Channel.
€ 10 “Weather Broadcast” Channels.
€ 57 VHF Marine Channels.
€ 89 popular Short-wave Broadcast Station Memory Channels.
