Piping
The pipes connected to the set must be adequately sized (if possible, according to manifold

diameter). To prevent undue stress, expansion joints and suitable pipe supports should be

provided. You can use either end of the manifold, but don’t forget to plug the unused end.

The weight of the pipes and tanks increases when they are filled with

water.

Before starting the set, make sure you have closed and tightened all the

unused couplings.

The suction pipe of each pump must have the least possible number of elbows. Any bends

must be wide and positioned horizontally or with a steady upward gradient towards the
pump to prevent the formation of air pockets in the pipe.

Make sure there are no air leaks on the suction side.

The pumps are equipped with a coupling for the re-circulation pipe, to be

connected to a discharge outlet or to the tank in order to prevent flooding during

operation.

Selecting the tank

The tanks may be installed over the set or on the floor.

Threaded connections for the membrane tanks are provided on the set’s delivery manifold.

The pre-charge pressure is 0.2 bar lower than the set pressure of the last pressure switch to

activate. Checks must be made when the system is shut down and the pressure discharged,
or when the tanks are disassembled from the system.

Electrical connections

The connection of the power supply must be made by authorized personnel in

accordance with local codes.

Before making the connections, disconnect the mains power supply!

The wiring diagram and the labels on the electric panel provide the necessary information for

connection and the required power supply values. The service pump’s electric panel signals

any wrong cyclic direction in the event of incorrect connection of the three-phase line.

Fill the pumps with liquid before starting them. Refer to the pumps’
instructions manual.

To start, follow the procedure described in the Start-up section.

Single-phase/three-phase version, service pump and jockey pump, if present

Suitable cable of appropriate gauge must be connected to the panel:

- L to the main switch terminal, N to the neutral wire terminal (single-phase version).

- L1, L2, L3 to the main switch terminals, N to the neutral wire terminal, if provided (three-

phase version).

- PE to the ground terminal.
