If the set is damaged, disconnect the power supply to avoid electric shock.
If the set is damaged, close the on-off valves to prevent flooding.
GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
The following instructions cannot safeguard you from all the dangers arising from use of the
engine but must be supplemented by the common sense and experience of the personnel in
charge of operating the machine; these are the only accident prevention measures that are
truly indispensable.
1. Knowledge of the machine. Carefully read all the instructions contained in the operating
and maintenance manuals. Before starting the machine check the efficiency of the
operating and safety devices.
2. Watch out for bystanders. If you expect any dangerous situations to arise, signal
manoeuvres in advance. Do not allow untrained personnel to approach the machine
while it is running.
3. Wear suitable clothing. Avoid wearing loose clothing that may get caught in the
transmission members.
4. Protect your hands with gloves. Certain parts, such as sheet metal, have sharp edges that
can cut you. Use suitable tools and equipment.
5. Make sure the pumps are properly primed before starting them.
6. The pumps used in fire-fighting sets are not suitable for pumping liquids containing
abrasive substances, solid or fibrous matter and flammable and explosive liquids.
7. The electric pumps are suitable for operation in sheltered locations, protected from the
weather and freezing temperatures.
Make sure that no obstructions or obstacles hinder the normal flow of the cooling air
delivered by the motor fan.
8. Make sure the pump is disconnected from the power supply before conducting any
installation or maintenance operations.
9. The electric panel may only be installed and connected by a qualified electrician in
compliance with the electrical regulations locally in force.
10. As a general rule, the power supply must be disconnected before any servicing of the
electrical and/or mechanical components of the set or system is carried out.

provided with the diesel pump since it contains additional instructions
concerning safety, installation and operation.
