FIRE ALARM CONTACT

The matrix features three different sirens: “BASE”, “EVAC” and “ALERT”

MATRIX88 features 8 zone contacts (1÷8) and one common one (G),
which are usually open.
If one or more zone contacts and the common one (G) are shorted, the
corresponding zones will play one of the sirens, either “ALERT”, “ “EVAC”
or BASE”.

As long as the contacts are shorted, the siren will take priority on any
other audio signal and will keep being reproduced in each respective
zone

E.g.: If 1–G and 4 –G are shorted, the siren will simultaneously sound in zones 1 and 4; all other zones will
keep on working normally.

Reproduction of the “ALERT” siren

In order to configure the system so that the ALERT siren will sound at the closure
of the FIRE ALARM CONTACT, place a jumper between the ALERT and
COMMON contacts on the terminal block (fig. 2, ref. 7).

Reproduction of the “EVAC” siren

In order to configure the system so that the EVAC siren will sound at the closure
of the FIRE ALARM CONTACT, place a jumper between the EVAC and
COMMON contacts on the terminal block (fig. 2, ref. 7).

Reproduction of the “BASE” siren

In order to configure the system so that the BASE siren will sound at the closure of the FIRE
ALARM CONTACT, do nothing.

Note:

Each contact acts only on its own MATRIX88. If you have an extended system consisting of several
daisy-chained MATRIX88s, contacts can be independently set.
