Dear Customer,
The television you have just purchased combines the func-
tions of a “television” and a “graphic monitor”. It can therefo-
re be connected to a source of digital images like a compu-
ter . The television is designed to give you maximum satisfac-
tion and provides all the functions and adjustments neces-
sary to ensur e top quality sound and vision in both operating
modes. Read this manual carefully to lear n how to install and
operate your new television correctly . In particular , r ead all
the warnings and r ecommendations in Chapter 2 - ‘Safety’
before you switch on for the first time.
Bear in mind that you need a good quality antenna system to
receive good quality audio-video signals. The manufactur er
accepts no responsibility for the poor functioning of this
appliance if caused by an inadequate or defective antenna
system.
1.1 PRESENTA TION
This television uses the latest DLP
TM
image processing technology
from T exas Instruments (featuring a DMD
TM
1280x720 pixel matrix
with 12°technology) plus a sealed, dust-pr oof SIM2 optical system,
a new six filter colour disk and a new concept Fresnel lens. All this
advanced technology combines to generate an absolutely faultless
image with exceptional resolution, detail, colour and contrast, ensu-
ring that this television is the perfect choice for all home cinema
applications.
This television is also able to acquire and pr ocess a wide range of
video signals. A generous number of connectors on the r ear panel
lets you connect to various types of digital and analog devices
including DVD players, video recor ders, satellite and terrestrial TV
receivers, computers, video game consoles, video cameras, etc..
The television’s image pr ocessing system can handle a wide range
of input signals, from interlaced video to high definition digital gra-
phics, ensuring perfect repr oduction in all cases. Interlaced signals
are converted into pr ogressive signals by the highly acclaimed
DCDi
TM
technology, guaranteeing smooth, natural, flicker -free images
without annoying pixel block effects. High r esolution signals are
repr oduced faithfully and without loss of information or picture detail
thanks to the high pixel rate video signal acquisition capacity.
Differ ent input signal resolutions can be adapted to match scr een
resolution without loss of image quality thanks to a br oad selection
of preset aspect ratios, including user definable ratios.
Chapter 1 - INTRODUCTION
All sound and picture adjustments can be made fr om the remote
control on a user friendly On Scr een Display (OSD). If you prefer ,
you can also set up the television from the contr ol panel on the front
of the appliance.
NOTE: Y our new television has been subjected to a series of tests
in the factory to ensure that it gives maximum pictur e quality. As a
result of these tests you may find that the bulb has alr eady operated
for something like 30 to 60 hours when you first switch the applian-
ce on.
On top of these standard pr oduction tests, the manufacturer’ s
Quality Department also performs statistical checks prior to ship-
ment. These checks may result in the box containing your television
having being opened before you r eceive it.
