In all cases it is possible to choose from 5 different baud rate values.

It is possible to control more than one DVR from the same keyboard, always provided they are identified by
different unit numbers.

It is necessary to set a suitable number for the keyboard (see § 4.3 –Menu items, page 14), given that the DVR
is able to recognise up to number 15. The choice of possible addresses ranges from 1 to 15, then the keyboard
will automatically associate them with the 240-254 range, as required by the EL.MO. protocol.

IMPORTANT NOTE!

If video units are used, the EL.MO. protocol requires a specific mapping between camera No. and
receiver No.; please read § 4.5.5.1
- Using the EL.MO. DVR

5.16.2.4 Operational tests

When the keyboard is connected directly with the DVR (as described above) it should be immediately possible
to switch the input videos.

WARNING!

If the video unit has an incorrect address setting, the controls transmitted from the keyboard will not
be recognised.

5.16.3 Operating m odes

To control the EL.MO. DVR’s, the DCJ keyboard has two operating modes: VIDEO mode and TELEMETRY
mode, used respectively to control video devices (DVR’s) and to control telemetry devices (domes, pan & tilt
etc.).
If the display shows the message



, the keyboard is in VIDEO mode. The TELEMETRY mode can be

recognised by the message

, Nr. and by the symbol representing the joystick movements.

To pass from one mode to another just press the



key.

WARNING!

If neither of the two telemetry lines have been associated with the EL.MO. protocol, the only available
operating mode will be VIDEO.
