Advanced sound adjustments

Y ou access a sub-menu when you select

Advanced Adj.in the

Soundmenu.

The following four items appear:

•“FR-FL V

olume”,

•“FR-FL Balance”

,

•“C-R V

olume”,

•“C-R Balance”

,

acting on the volume and balance of television speaker sound

and of all external speakers connected to it, accor

ding to the

diagram in

Fig.8

.

NOTE:

Once you have set the volume and balance in this sub-

menu, when you adjust the overall audio volume (paragraph 4.7.1)

the television turns the volume up and down, maintaining the pr

o-

portions you established between the volumes of the sets of spea-

kers.

•SubW

oofer: Set this option “On” if you have a sub-woofer con-

nected to the subwoofer connector [P]

.

•V

olume SubW: Use this setting to adjust subwoofer volume.

•Headphones

: (This option is not available if you selected the

“Multichannel” option under “Sound Eff.” in the

Soundmenu).

Use this sub-menu to adjust headphone sound if you have head-

phones connected to the phones connector [A]

. Sound remains

active from the television’

s own loudspeakers. If you wish to eli-

minate sound from the television’

s own speakers, proceed as fol-

lows:

The “Headphones” menu contains the following options.

- “Volume”

: for adjusting volume in the headphones.

-“Balance”

: for adjusting the relative volume of the left and right

channels.

T reble”

: for adjusting the relative volume of high fr

equency (tre

ble) sound.

-“Bass”

: for adjusting the relative volume of low fr

equency (bass)

sound.

-“Dual Language”

: for selecting what language you wish to listen

to in the headphones or earphones during bilingual broadcasts.

The television loudspeakers repr

oduce the other language.

•Equalizer

: this item recalls an

Equalizersub-menu with the fol-

lowing options: “V

olume”;

“Balance”;

“T reble”

; “Bass”

;

“Equalizer” (selecting the “Of

f” option); “Selection”.

Before setting these functions as described further on, choose out

of the options “Speakers”, “Music” and “Concert” in the “Selection”

item.Any subsequent adjustments made to the other functions will

alter only the option you have chosen.

We suggest you r

epeat these settings for each option available

(“Speakers”, “Music” and “Concert”). After you have made all the

necessary adjustments, you can recall the equalizer pr

eset that best

suits the nature of the br

oadcast you are listening to. Select

“Speakers” to enhance the spoken word, “Music” for sounds other

than the human voice and “Concert” for music rich in bass and tre-

ble tones.
