7. DC EMERGENCY POWER SUPPLY

Warning

The Z8SLAVE is designed to operate in EMERGENCY with 24Vdc continuous external voltage to be applied
to the terminals (ref.6-fig2).

Note

A – In case of battery power supply, the unit is not designed for battery recharging.

B – If the unit is powered by 24Vdc voltage, in case of blackout the farther positioned microphone stations
could not be operating. Operation of emergency microphone station, if installed, is however guaranteed.

9. OVERRIDE OR BYPASS OF LOCAL VOLUME CONTROL ATTENUATORS (REF.8-FIG.2)

In some applications, local volume control attenuators (TRVxxx series) upstream of the loudspeakers are
used to allow independent volume adjustment in specific zones.
In this case it is necessary to by-pass these level controls in order to make the announcement or the alarm
call audible.
The ZONE8/Z8SLAVE units provide the two classic configurations for this function: 24V override control –
“3-wire” system override.
