L'unità ottica installata nel computer impiega un sistema laser. Sulla
superficie esterna dell'unità è applicata un'etichetta con l'indicazione della
classe laser, simile alla seguente.
L'unità dotata dell'etichetta sopraccitata è certificato dal produttore che ne
dichiara la conformità ai requisiti per prodotti laser alla data della produzione in
base all'articolo 21 del Code of Federal Regulations degli Stati Uniti d'America,
dipartimento Health & Human Services, Food and Drug Administration.
In altri paesi l'unità è certificata come conforme ai requisiti previsti dalle
norme IEC 825 e EN60825 per i prodotti laser di classe 1.
